You could call the World Baijiu Day logo old school, given it relies on that design classic, Microsoft Paint. Then again, what’s a 30-year-old program compared to the long history of baijiu? All I can say is that if you do plan to make logos, work on them before you get into the sauce (aroma baijiu). Trust me.
Anyway, I put my minimal design skills to use again this year to come up with some logos and then drew on the collective wisdom of fellow baijiu enthusiasts to evaluate them.
They generally felt the “Year of the Pig” design failed to bring home the bacon. Sorry, Pig!
Of several alternative designs, the one below generated the best response. That makes it the official 2019 WBD logo, one that borrows from past designs but with a few more flourishes, a bit more color. Feel free to use it!
Founded in 2015, World Baijiu Day is held each August 9, with events in over 60 cities so far. Follow WBD on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. And get in touch via spirit (at) worldbaijiuday.com.
