Baijiu is the planet’s most popular spirit, with some 20 billion bottles produced each year, but is little-known beyond China.
World Baijiu Day aims to change that by partnering with bars, restaurants, consumers and producers in dozen of cities each August 9. (See the 2020 event list here. The 2023 list is coming soon.)
Events go beyond the usual tradition of drinking baijiu as warm shots to the toast of “ganbei” (dry glass). They feature everything from baijiu-inspired cocktails, infusions and liqueurs to pizza, beer and chocolate to quizzes, classes and flights.

I hope to see you getting into the spirit for World Baijiu Day this year!
