Peking Tavern in downtown Los Angeles plans to mark World Baijiu Day by officially introducing the winning cocktail from its most recent competition. The drink is question is a baijiu sour, includes Shuijingfang, yuzu juice and egg white, and was created by LA-based Rye Su. That photo above shows Su in action during the contest.
Expect plenty fun at this place on August 8.
“We’re trying to make our WBD more like a party“, says co-owner Andrew Chiu. “Shuijingfang will be pouring some samples that night at 10 PM for an hour while we crank up the music and bring out our hutong-style ping pong table.”
And as usual on Saturdays, a chef will be hand-pulling noodles.
Peking Tavern is at 806 South Spring Street and will be open from 5 PM to 1:30 AM on August 8. The phone number is 213-988-8308.
