If you have been asking yourself where in Washington one can enjoy baijiu-based cocktails while crooning to one’s heart’s delights, then the restaurant / KTV known as Wok and Roll is right up your alley. This venue will mark World Baijiu Day with cocktails made with local baijiu brand Confucious Wisdom, says David Zhou of said spirits company.
And when it comes to the singing, it’s not mandatory–given the nature of the event–that anyone has to change, say, Jimi Hendrix’s ‘Hey Joe’ to ‘Baijiu’, the Everly Brothers’ ‘Bye Bye Love’ to ‘Bai Jiu Love’ or any number of performers’ ‘Cotton Eye Joe’ as ‘Cotton Bye Joe’, but it would be a nice gesture.
Wok and Roll, 604 H Street NW, Washington, DC (map here). 202-347-4656. Open on August 8 from 11 AM to 12:30 AM.
Founded in 2015, World Baijiu Day is held each August 9, with events in over 60 cities so far. Follow WBD on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. And get in touch via spirit (at) worldbaijiuday.com.
