By Jim Boyce | R&D Cocktail Lab in Taipei is back for World Baijiu Day with new digs—here’s hoping the weather gods behave this time and there’s no repeat of last year’s typhoon!
Known for creative drinks that use seasonal ingredients and homemade syrups, infusions and more, the R&D team is now in the heart of Taipei and, says Spencer Huang, “we have quite a few new toys to play with in the new space.”
They are going to feature two cocktails from from 7 PM on August 9, World Baijiu Day.
One uses Taiwan’s most famous spirit, Kaoliang, and is called Jasmine-Sugarcane Sour. Along with kaoliang, it has jasmine green tea, sugarcane liqueur and kumquat. The other is the Mijiu Sangria, with hibiscus, goji berries, star anise, sugarcane, three flower tea, mango and Asian pear.
