Stockholm | ‘Baijiulato’ with Stikki Nikki and Jiuxian

By Jim Boyce | While baijiu is typically imbibed at room temperature, it will get some cool treatment in Sweden this year as part of World Baijiu Day. Jiuxian, a Scandinavian society focused on Chinese drinking culture, will team with gelato maker Stikki Nikki to create baijiulato

“Baijiu + gelato = Baijiulato!” explained Ludvig Sääf in a post about this icy creation. “On the morning of August 9th, Stikki Nikki will make three different gelatos, flavored with Moutai, Shui Jing Fang and Red Star respectively.”

Those three brands cover three key categories: sauce aroma, strong aroma and light aroma respectively.

“There will be some seriously exclusive gelato with three completely different flavors to enjoy,” states Sääf, who says the plan is to serve the baijiu gelatos in Stikki Nikki’s stores at Götgatan, Gamla Stan and Drottninggatan during the afternoon.

“Mr Lu of the Jiuxian society will be at xthe stores scooping gelato,” he states. “As a special treat for all supporters of Jiuxian, we will give free scoops to all of you who come when Lu is at the stores and say the code word ‘Jiuxian’.”
